Hilary Duff has cancelled a concert for the first time in her career.

Last night’s concert at St. John’s was cancelled by the promoters just ten hours before it was scheduled to begin because adverse weather conditions delayed a ferry carrying equipment being shipped from New Jersey.

In a press release Duff said “I’m extremely disappointed that we were not able to perform this tour for my fans in Newfoundland. This is the first show we ever had to cancel, but I’m looking forward to performing in St. John’s in the future.”

Christina Aguilera is going to be performing with Herbie Hancock at the 48th annual Grammy Awards.

The Arctic Monkeys have topped the UK charts with their single “When The Sun Goes Down.” They beat off Will Young, Shayne Ward and no doubt millions of other reality TV products to produce a top 40 chart that actually has something good at the top ;).

According to Pause and Play, Avril Lavigne’s new album which as yet does not have a title will be coming out Spring 2006. It was not expected until 2007 although there is no other confirmation yet.

The debut album from The Wreckers (the newly formed band of Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp) has been confirmed as being released in May. Their music label’s website, TheWreckersMusic.com now has the date splashed across the homepage (it’s actually the only page ;))…

Jess will be kicking off the 32nd annual People’s Choice Awards with a special performance according to AP.

In a press release about it executive producer Carol Donovan said “Jessica’s true vocal talent, unlimited energy and undeniable charisma will truly be a great addition to this year’s show.”

Britney Spears’s husband Kevin Federline’s music career isn’t going to well at the moment. First of all, he can’t pick up a record label and now his track “PopoZao” has been leaked on the internet.

P.O.D.’s new album will be coming out January 24th next year. It will be entitled Testify and will follow up to their 2003 smash album Payable on Death.

In an attempt to revive her pop career, Britney Spears has hired the team behind Madonna’s latest album, “Confessions on a Dance Floor,” producer Peer Astrom and writers Bloodshy and Avant.

A source revealed “After hearing Confessions Britney immediately decided she wanted to return to the pop sound that made her a huge star in the beginning.”

Well it’s over. I haven’t even been watching it because I think it’s a joke. They simply ripped off Pop Idol. I think I’ll take the time to explain why. The reason the show changed from Pop Idol to X Factor was not because it’s a new show, for two reasons.

First of all, it’s by different people. Simon Cowell is behind X Factor and is getting sued by the guy behind Pop Idol because it is clearly a rip-off. Secondly, anyone who does anything different gets rejected - they are not looking for something different at all, some kind of “x” factor, they just want the same generic factors they wanted before.

So anyway, rant over. Shayne Ward was announced as the winner on last nights show. He’s now favourite for the Christmas number one spot.
